This article covers MoonClerk's new dashboard design. If your account still uses the classic design, see the classic version of this article.
Keep in mind that editing a form with existing payments or recurring plans associated will not affect those already existing payments or plans.
You can edit a form that is already taking payments without your payers seeing the work in progress: Save stores your changes, and payers keep getting the published version until you click Publish.
Video walkthrough
Editing a live form, from the first change to Publish or discard — and proof that payers keep seeing the published version in between.
Instructions
1) Click on the Forms button in your account's main navigation.
2) Click the vertical ellipsis (⋮) next to the form and choose Edit. (Clicking the form's name opens its details page, which also has an Edit button.)
3) The form opens in the builder with every section on one page. Click a section's row — Basics, Amount, Payment methods, Add-ons, Confirmation, or Organization — to expand it and make your changes. The Checkout preview beside the builder updates as you go.
4) Click the Save button at the top of the page. Save only stores your work — it never publishes. If the form is live, the builder now shows that you have unpublished changes: you're looking at your version, while payers still get the published one (open the form's public link in another browser to see for yourself). You can leave and come back later; your saved changes will be waiting.
5) When you're ready, click Publish to make your changes live. If you change your mind, discard the unpublished changes instead and the form goes back to exactly what your payers already had.
There is no need to update your form's links or embed codes after publishing changes — the form keeps the same link. If the form is still a draft, it simply stays a draft until you publish it.
